BRITTANY TAYLOR

Assistant Superintendent / Focus

Brittany Taylor is a dedicated construction professional and advocate for women in the trades, particularly young girls and women of color. Brittany studied Criminal Justice at Purdue University, but transitioned into construction through a 12-week pre-apprenticeship program at Revolution Workshop in 2018. This experience launched her career in the industry, where she advanced from a laborer to a non-union carpenter supervisor and later became a union carpenter. Over four years, she gained expertise in the trades, at respected firms such as Scott Simpson Design & Build, Douglas Harness Real Estate & Construction, and Coen Carpentry. Her experience across these firms gave her a strong background in construction, which equipped her to step into a management role as a Field Engineer at Focus, a General Contractor specializing in market rate apartments.  Brittany’s energy, integrity and passion for quality saw her achieve a promotion in 2024 to Assistant Superintendent, overseeing finishes for a 300-unit project in Aurora.

In addition to her professional work, Brittany is deeply involved in her community. She leads the Women’s Group at Revolution Workshop, serves on its Alumni Board, and partners with WSRT and the Polished Pebble Girls Mentoring Program. Through these roles, she actively mentors and supports young women entering the trades, regularly returning to Revolution Workshop to connect with new cohorts and speaking at community events, high schools, and colleges.

Brittany is passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in construction and is committed to supporting future generations. Her ongoing advocacy work emphasizes the importance of initiative and drive, inspiring others to pursue fulfilling careers in the industry.
