Join PWC Chicago Members in a presentation and demonstration of BIM Modeling and Construction Technology, hosted by PWC Chicago Gold Sponsor AECOM Hunt. This course is a part of the PWC Chicago Professional Development Industry in Focus series.
This 75-minute interactive session will feature many topics related to technology in construction and provide attendees with a basic understanding of how technology and BIM/VDC are implemented and integrated into large scale construction projects.
The AECOM Hunt BIM VDC Team will present a visual slideshow and live demonstration on the uses of BIM and other technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss, ask questions, and even see equipment such as a Drone, 360 Camera Laser Scanner, and AR/VR Glasses. This session will provide an overview of a variety of technologies and empower attendees to have informed conversations and implementations on future project teams.
The course will be highly adaptable to the attendees’ interests. It may cover:
- Use of Models in Construction
- Clash Detection
- Data Driven KPIs and Dashboards
- Progress Tracking
- Reality Capture (Drones, 360 Cameras, Laser Scanning)
- 3D Printing
- Facilities Data - FM Solutions
- AR / VR / Robotics

About the Facilitator Team
Amanda Ko is a Digital Technology Specialist at AECOM Hunt with 8 years of experience in Architecture. Amanda has worked on the designs for many large-scale international projects and with her BIM background, has recently transitioned into Construction Management. During her free time, Amanda enjoys biking, throwing pottery, and exploring new restaurants in the city.
Rick Benson is a VDC Engineer, and has been with AECOM Hunt for 3 years. Rick started his work managing the field, transitioned to BIM last year, and has since assisted on various projects around the country including stadiums and aviation. During his free time, Rick enjoys recording music, talking TV, and getting dragged to the park by his 100lb Berner.
Sara Nazar is a Summer 2025 BIM Intern at AECOM Hunt and a current senior at Purdue University studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Computer Graphics Technology. Sara is passionate about the intersection of design and construction technology and is gaining hands-on experience in BIM through her internship. In her free time, Sara enjoys sweet treats and shopping
Shosuke Naokawa is a VDC Engineer at AECOM Hunt with 4 years of experience and a background in Civil Engineering and Business Administration. Shosuke has led BIM efforts on a variety of project types in the Chicago area, ranging from multi-family residential to hospitals and aviation. In his free time, Shosuke likes to play sports along the lake and explore cafes around the city.
Tyson Miller is a VDC Engineer at AECOM Hunt with 2 years of experience and a background in BIM & Construction Technology. Tyson has led BIM efforts on a variety of project types nationally, historically concentrating on preconstruction and BD efforts. In his free time, Tyson likes to work on his cars and bikes as well as enjoying mixed media through movies, music, and games.
